Celebrating our Stars at Colley Lane Primary Academy

At Colley Lane, part of the Windsor Academy Trust (WAT) Family, we celebrate a tradition of excellence, community, and holistic development. Our extracurricular programme is a cornerstone of this ethos, offering a huge menu of activities that cater to every student's passion to enable them to unlock their personal potential. With the latest statistics and achievements in hand, we're excited to share the profound impact these programs have on our students.

A Variety of Talents

Throughout the year, our students engage in an impressive array of 14 different sports, along with a rich variety of arts, dance, and more, reflecting our commitment to nurturing diverse talents. This past year alone, over 61% of Key Stage 2 students participated in at least one club, a testament to the engaging and inclusive nature of our offerings.

Since September 2023, our students have collectively dedicated 6,363 hours to extracurricular activities. This remarkable investment of time underscores the enthusiasm and dedication of our students and staff, creating a vibrant, dynamic learning environment that extends far beyond the classroom.

Leadership and Citizenship

Our Student Senate, Wellbeing Warriors, and Sustainability Squad exemplify the leadership and citizenship skills fostered through these programmes. From organising school-wide initiatives to advocating for mental health and sustainability, these groups empower our students to become proactive, compassionate leaders. The ‘Art Addicts’ display board and diverse roles such as Year 6 librarians and playground leaders further enrich our school culture, providing platforms for responsibility, creativity, and leadership.

Celebrating Success

Our achievements in the past year highlight the competitive spirit and teamwork of our students:

Halesowen Cross Country: Girls 1st, Boys 2nd, clinching 1st overall.
Dudley Cross Country: Competing against 36 schools, our girls placed 7th and our boys 1st, securing 3rd overall.
Halesowen Netball champions and strong performances in Sportshall Athletics further underscore our athletic prowess.

An After-School World of Opportunity

Our after-school schedule is a bustling hub of activity, offering everything from Multi Sports for Years 3 and 4 to Dance, Art, and even Dodgeball across various year groups. With sessions ending at 4.15 or 4.30 PM, these clubs provide valuable opportunities for students to explore new interests, develop skills, and build friendships in a supportive environment.

Y5 & Y6 explore Dance, Netball, Basketball/Table Tennis, Hockey, and exclusive Squad Football.
Y4, Y5, & Y6 have options like Art, Football, and Dodgeball, showcasing our commitment to diverse interests.
Rec, Y1 & Y2 enjoy Art and Multi Skills, introducing them to the joy of teamwork and physical activity early on.

Through sports, arts, leadership, and more, we're not just preparing our students for the challenges of tomorrow; we're equipping them with the skills, values, and memories that will last a lifetime. National Offer Day

With National Offer Day just around the corner (16th April 2024) we understand that decisions may evolve, we extend an open invitation to visit our school and alongside myself, meet our wonderful staff.
