Grand Designs - Year 1

The highlight in Year 1 this week was the launch of our DT ‘Grand Designs’ theme. Our stunning start involved dumping a pile of recyclable rubbish in the middle of the classroom with the chidlren then tasked to turn our pile of ‘junk’ into their own piece of treasure. It was wonderful watching the children embody our Aspire character values and skills as they worked. Being creative, becoming unstuck, being resilient and organised - we could see it all! By the end of the session the children had made a wonderful array of items, including a laptop, hammer, a house, a bus and even a bird!
